Wouldn't be infinitely better and more simple if Qantas implemented a system like this, which has also been implemented by airlines such as NH and JL. "Frequent flyers" can enjoy increased availability or "anyseat" for say double points, while "Frequent spenders" can have the same level of availability as current. Seems logical to me.
I called QF sales yesterday on the 131131 number and asked if they had their training on the new FF scheme yet - the answer was that they had.
I said that i gathered that the anytime redemption's would kill off the "request" capability that they can use for Plat flyers. She said that it would not, and that would still be available - in fact that was something that the Premium desk had asked and the answer would be that it can still be done.
I guess its all just a wait and see. I do get most of my points through credit cards as well, but when flying I make sure that I do fly qantas and obtain platinum as without platinum you have great difficulty in using points.
