I suggest centred image "Thumbnails" < 10Kb, with embedded links to larger versions.

Syntax:

"[CENTRE][URL=<image url>[IMG]<image thumbnail URL>[/IMG]<new line>
<Image Title/Desc>[/URL][/CENTER]"

e.g.
