Sioux Falls is quite a ways away from Mt. Rushmore - definitely, spend time in and around the Black Hills - there's nothing East River that competes with them.

In Rapid City (where my family relocated to in 2001) there's an incredible restaurant called The Corn Exchange. Uses a lot of local ingredients, you can read its reviews from Gourmet Magazine through its website.

This is probably the best restaurant in all of South Dakota.
