and to those whove been to cipriani, will the palazzi be open in may?

rates would be high season at cipriani (from 850 euros in May 2008 - ouch). not sure about bauer hotels. (looks like from ~500 euros now)
OTOH cipriani does have 3rd, 4th, and 7th night free packages.
(although i dont remember seeing a restriction saying you cant book 2 free 3rd nights back to back.. so youd get 33% off 6 nights..)
ok talked to spg about awards. one thing i learned is you cant combine cash&points with room/suite upgrades, nor can you book an award and then upgrade using cash, except when checking in at the property.
so the good looking award options >

- 22,500 - jr suite with good view (~500 euros now) (lists online as room)
- 40,000 - suite with good view (~1100 euros now) (lists online as jr suite)
there is a grand room with view or something like that at the E&R (~500 euros now) for price comparison. (but you cant get it with award and NO award options have a view
