European vacation plans changed. Flying into MXP. Need to get to Rome that night. Airfares (from what i've found) are horrible. Arrive on May 15th. If on a reward ticket it is no problem at all for as you know they are both part of SkyTeam and you can go on AZ from MXP to Rome, for only the cost of taxes and fees. AZ award availability intra-Italy is quite good, by the way.
Also, I realize it is probably a pain to go from MXP to Milan Bergamo or Milan Linate airport, but I am just providing this to you as an option as I also do not know your flight arrival times.

Air One is an affiliate of LH and a member of the Star Alliance, I think. Also, you would come into Rome's other and less used airport, Ciampo, if you use Ryanair.
Finally, there is another LCC --blu-express.com -- that does fly from MXP to FCO, but it only has once a day service that leaves at 7:30 AM and I thought that would be too early for you.
