If the whole itinerary is AZ you should be able to check in for all legs and get boarding passes at your initial departure point. I have run into a few cases at smaller airports where the GA's didn't fully understand the AZ computer system and didn't know how to print the BP's.

If one leg is codeshare and you start at an airport where AZ doesn't have a large presence, there is a good chance they won't be able to issue all the BP's.
