If worst comes to worse, book yourself the cheapest redemption ticket you can find - which will be a UK to Europe ticket at 13,000 miles. This will obviously cost you miles but will give you another three years grace. This also saves you worrying about whether your car hire / hotel / AA flight etc will post in time.
