EY may not have the system to allocate lower level award space to their own members (Ie like CX) so instead they have just turned it off to partners.

This is kind of matches what EY agreed to with AA last year (heck almost a year and half ago) that certain cities out of THE US would only show premium space within 30 days.

Took em me long enough to implement their plan.

Airlines don't make award space available unless their models predict that they won't sell it. The issue isn't that there is no EY award availability; that happens on many airlines and it's not really news.

The issue here is that J/F awards are shown as available on etihad.com (so they will ultimately be taken by Etihad Guest members and other partners, preventing them from being sold for cash) but are not bookable using AAdvantage miles. This is also something that we can do nothing about; but it's a recent change so it is news.
