I would clear customs at TBIT and walk to T6 to clear security there. It's usually a quick affair with PreCheck, and it's a quicker walk outside the tunnels, IMO (go to the departures level). I haven't been through the AS side of LAX since the terminal shift last month, so things might have changed.
