The simple fact that it was booked with a partner.
Partner flights do not earn EQM/EQD/RDM based on fare. They earn it based on a % of distance flown, which changes depending on which partner you're flying. If I'm looking at a partner flight I'll google "aadvantage <airline name>" to pull that up. Here's the one for JL:
