Here's the thing. In the asset-lite world the chain has little pull over the properties. Review trips we have done have always been exceptionally painful to arrange - not for us, for the brand.
Last year I went to an event IHG organised at IC Park Lane, with an overnight stay. Despite being their UK flagship, they don't it. The head office had to hire an events management company to book their 'own' hotel and paid the normal commercial rate. We attendees didn't even get points - despite IHG announcing to the room that we would - because it was treated as a third party booking!
