Don't upgrade before applying for a new card. Get the new plat bonus and keep your gold. After you get the bonus points on the new card, look for offers to upgrade gold with 50k bonus.
Is that common? I would assume they would know (or should) that I already have the Platinum Card so would they still offer me a bonus to upgrade the PRG?
