Champagne

Taittinger Comtes De Champagne Blanc De Blancs
Champagne Taittinger began in the early 1930s, Pierre Taittingers flair for aesthetic elegance and an entrepreneurial vision helping to establish it rapidly as a fine producer of Champagne. With vineyards in the Montagne de Reims, Cote des Blancs and the Aube, Champagne Taittinger continues to embody the precise balance of power and drive softened with elegance and finesse.

Pol Roger Sir Winston Churchill
Founded in 1849 by Pol Roger this esteemed Champagne house has always been highly regarded for the elegance, consistency and finesse it achieves across the range of cuvees it produces. With vineyards across many of the premium areas of Champagne this house has the ability to source the perfect grapes for the perfect cuvee. Maurice, the son of Pol had a particular love for the richness of the Pinot Noir grape, this was a passion he shared with Sir Winston Churchill a well-known devotee of the house.

Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame
The innovative and visionary talent of Mme Clicquot herself has made this Champagne label one of the most recognised and successful of the region. Her determination to share her wine with new markets enabled her to first ship the 1811 vintage to the Imperial court in St Petersburg. A little over 200 years later the house of Veuve Clicquot has many strong relationships with growers and vineyard owners all over Champagne.

Champagne

Taittinger Comte de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2006, Champagne, France
The prestigae cuvee of Taittinger, Comtes de Champagne first appeared in 1952. A Blanc de Blanc, the Chardonnay grapes are sourced from prized vineyards including Grand Cru sites in Avize and Cramant. The 2006 is a powerful, refined and expressive Champagne, this vintage is showing citrus fruit aromas, lime blossom and notes of caramelised grapefruit. It has great length and complexity and is a perfect wine to begin a fine meal, yet could be enjoyed throughout.

White

Grosset Polish Hill Riesling 2014, Clare Valley, South Australia
From the master of Australian Riesling, Jeff Grosset, comes this shining example of why the Clare Valley is so established as a great district for the varietal. Produced exclusively from the 8 hectare vineyard the result is classical; mineral and slate that frame lime citrus along with exotic blossoms. Initially round, the palate evolves to refreshing dryness that is powerful and balanced with precision.

Coldstream Hills Sauvignon Blanc 2013, Yarra Valley, Victoria
Established in 1985 Wine industry icon James Halliday. The first Sauvignon Blanc was produced in 1997. Bright and lifted characters of tropical fruits, passionfruit and gooseberry are complemented beautifully with a balanced palate and cleansing, long limey finish.

Leeuwin Estate Art Series Sauvignon Blanc 2014, Margaret River, Western Australia
Restrained tropical fruits with herbal traces, this is a surprisingly complex wine with fifty percent of the wine seeing old French oak. It doesn't dominate but adds to the layered textural palate and length of the wine. Hints of citrus float through adding to the freshness in this great expression of Sauvignon Blanc from the Margaret River.

Red

Paradigm Hill L'ami Sage Pinot Noir 2013, Mornington Peninsula, Victoria
'L'ami Sage' is the single vineyard that provides fruit for this wine showing a true expression of 'terrior' that is supported by a philosophy of minimal intervention and purity of varietal expression. Offering a concentrated nose of plum, blackberries and cherries with a hint of tobacco leaf and spice. The palate is abundant with blackcurrant, delicate spice and displays savoury tannins giving overall structure to the wine.

Leogate Estate The Basin Shiraz 2016, Hunter Valley, New South Wales
Distinguishable by cast iron gates and the "Lion Rampart" at the entry to the winery, Leogate are nurturing vines planted in the mid to late 70's. This reserve wine is complex and opulent with regional characters of black cherries, earth and spice. Finely structured with round tannins and fresh acidity, a medium to full bodied wine that shows quality of fruit and pedigree of winemaking.

Wirra Wirra "The Angelus" Cabernet Sauvignon 2013, McLaren Vale, South Australia
A well reputed winery who have recently received biodynamic certification after following sustainable practices for over a decade. The Angelus is the name of the 3/4 tonne bell perched in a modest tower at Wirra Wirra and a rich and concentrated Cabernet that is made from exceptional parcels of fruit from McLaren Vale. Layers of complexity amidst compact structure, keep you going back for more.

Dessert

De Bortoli Noble One Botrytis Semillon 2013, Riverina, New South Wales
One of Australia's truly iconic wines. The 2013 Noble One is golden in colour, with aromas of citrus, marmalade and a hint of vanilla. The palate is left with a ripe long finish and beautifully balanced acidity delivers a perfect wine to enjoy with dessert or cheese.
