From last Wednesday's BOS -> ATL 0830 Departure I had the chance to see the new Alessi serviceware:
Breakfast Choice of Cereal of Egg Sandwich
Salt and Pepper
Alessi Branding
Verdict: mixed.
Of course breakfast is the weakest of DL's meal offerings, but I did like the white tray table cloth. The serving tray itself has some rubberized coating/non-skid on it, which is very practical, but seemed a bit grimy. The tray is translucent and felt a bit sturdier than the old wooden ones. I liked that the coffee mugs were (seemed?) bigger than the previous generation.
The FA didn't know what a Silver Horizon was, but was happy to serve one after pointing to it in the Sky Magazine. Excellent service throughout the flight. All flights were this week-end were either breakfast or snack basket service, but I am curious to see the new barware in action.
