Just completed my first TLL run.
A few very basic photos will follow but a couple of thoughts first which I hope some will find useful.
*BA's SH Airbus is far more comfortable and has a nicer cabin vs AY.
*Front row of the AY SH Airbus A321 has decent legroom
*No choice of hot meal offered on AY. Beef or beef.
*BA799 HEL-LHR STD 1655 - be aware that its the dreaded afternoon tea despite sector length and proximity to 1700 threshold
*CX F lounge LHR T3 is far better than the BA F lounge LHR T3 IMO
*No service on the ATR between HEL&TLL & TLL&HEL
*HEL-TLL will be boarded via bus. Most of these leave from gate 22 just under the Schengen Lounge
*A good 10-15 min walk from arrival gate in HEL to/from connecting flight
*a standard wheelie will fit in the overhead locker of the ATR and there is no proactive 'valet' offered at aircraft side
*Uber to/from TLL to the Hilton costs EUR3
*The Hilton TLL is possibly the nicest Hilton I've ever stayed in
*If you're on the late HEL-TLL, you'll probably miss last orders at the hotel bar in the Hilton which closes at 0100L
*There is a casino joined on to the hotel. You need ID to enter. They will give you a free membership card to enter which gives you a free, no catch drink at the bar - very good offer
