Holiday Inn Express & Suites : Bend Oregon

Holiday Inn Express & Suites : Bend Oregon USA

What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Acceptable

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked "1 KING BED STANDARD NONSMOKING" - no upgrade, top floor
500 points welcome gift posted immediately

How are the rooms?
At some point in recent memory, the hotel was renovated, but it felt like the cheapest acceptable option was made for each choice - everything was plain white or light wood colored and felt sterile and cheap. As well, the window was broken (kept falling off its track and had no handle/lip to push it). Bed was more comfortable than usual, tho.

How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

What was good and what was bad?

Good:
  • Significantly less expensive than other options in the area
  • Friendly staff; trying their best
  • Lots of free parking

Bad:
  • Felt like the "minimum viable HIX" - in addition to the issues with the room, the breakfast did not meet brand standards (most notably, missing any turkey products) and the side door to the hotel did not shut on its own (propped open every time I tried it)
  • Just barely within the city limits - around 10 minutes drive to anything of interest
  • Quite a bit of road and train noise on front side room

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
There are so many nice options in downtown Bend that I can't imagine staying here again, unless it were the only affordable option on a particular day
