The rule is: if you are on an LX flight with UA codeshare flight number on a UA ticket, you don't get access. Or at least you should not - see the workarounds with mobile boarding pass or in my personal experience, boarding passes issued by LH that have worked.
Another workaround is to call UA when booking the ticket and booking the LX F segment with LX flight numbers. Since the fares filed by UA can also be used for LX flight numbers life can be so easy...
