FRA and AMS are about as far as you can go from SYD into Europe if you increased the range by 1,000 mi.

JFK-SYD and ORD-SYD would also be in range. Either way, I think SYD would be on one end of the next city pair if range were increased. The ME3 are already within reach of every major city AFAIK.
Both Europe and NA seem plausible to me as legitimate city pairs. QF has made noise about wanting to push the 777-8X to JFK (as reported by AusBT) so I would imagine they have similar views about getting it to FRA or AMS as well if it has the legs.
