I stayed there, checked out Tuesday 12/15. Diamonds get either the Herb n Kitchen or continental breakfast in Urban Tavern. To upgrade to a full breakfast, you have to upgrade at reception, so there is no having the server forget to add it to your bill. I didn't ask, but it appears that all Golds get is the pastry, beverage, fruit at Herb 'n' Kitchen (or whatever) with no option for eating at all in Urban Tavern (isn't that cute: say Herb n Kitchen aloud).
Last year, IIRC, as a gold I got to upgrade from continental to full in whatever the restaurant was called for about $10.
So, for golds, I think it's real downgrade.
I think I got upgraded to a "contemporary" room, with the frosted glass bathroom door. Light leaks and brightens up the entire room if your traveling companion (or you for that matter) uses the bathroom after retiring.
I'm liking it less and less.
