There is some reverse modelling of a few hundred points from Reunion back 18 months or so in one of the links I posted in this or the other MH370 thread. They seem to show that anything entering the southern Indian Ocean eventually gets caught up in the gyre that heads west to Reunion. In other words, don't give any meaningful clue as to where things started from.
