Current China trip - mixed experience to start. Citi corporate EMV Mastercard worked fine as before at Marriott hotel check-in. Authorization was PIN based, went through immediately.
USAA EMV MC failed at a local hole in the wall shop. No signature slip, no PIN request. Terminal was in Mandarin so I couldn't read what it said.
