Holiday Inn Kensington Forum - London
What is your IHG Rewards Club status?
Spire Royal Ambassador
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
It was ok
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest advance rate and received a so called executive room.
How are the rooms?
Small
Tiny bathroom with bathtub.
Flat screen television with good selection of national channels (but poor selection of international channels)
Nothing fancy : very basic decor, but still warm and comfortable
Very quiet and perfectly clean
2 free bottles of water, chocolate bar
Why executive rooms are not located on top floor??
The executive rooms have been partly renovated (read: a new sofa in the room which does not match with the room
)

How is the exec. lounge?
Lounge is at GBP 49 a day
- Free wifi
- Some cookies, juice and non alcoholic drinks before 6pm
- 3 different canapes and beer, wine etc after 6pm
- A very very "light" breakfast selection
Note that if you stay the friday and weekends, the lounge shut at 8PM
In another word, definitely not worth it.
What was good and what was bad?
Good:
- Excellent location, close to South Kensington and Chelsea (which remains my favourite London district). Walkable distance to Hyde Park, Notting Hill. There is a shared bike station just out of the hotel.
- Next to the tube station. Easy access from airport via Piccadilly Line
- Quite friendly staff (but hotel is definitely to big to deliver excellent service)
Bad:
Nothing, even if hotel has nothing special
Value for $ or IHG Rewards Club Points? Would you return?
Yes.
HI Kensington is definitely not a luxury property, but it does the job at a decent price (not so cheap still).
Good choice if you are looking for just a comfortable bed in one of London's best district.
