What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum RA

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
It was ok

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked cheapest, got Club room on top floor

How are the rooms?
Relatively good size. Lots of issues. Heating was not working, one LED strip at the curtain was stuck in the on state (need to use the main switch at the door to get the room dark), the mechanical switch at the bathtub to switch the shower on was nonoperational and a few other problems.

How is the exec. lounge?
Strange. Separated in two parts at opposite ends of the building, seating around 10 on each side. Check in desk was in the hallway next to elevators. Far too small for the number of club rooms, but then the offerings where so minimal that you really did not want to stay there (much less than the typical IC standard). You could also take breakfast in the downstairs restaurant (food was ok, but selections and quality also where poor).

Did you receive fruit in the room?
Yes, 3 apples

What was good?
- Location. If is opposite a huge shopping mall with several restaurants etc.
2 blocks from Sandton Gautrain station (direct connection to airport), shuttle bus to the station (you call when you leave the airport and they pick you up)
- People are very friendly and nice

What was bad?
- Minimal mini bar
- Lounge, layout, size and offerings
- Restaurant on ground floor (breakfast), selection, appearance and food quality
- Concierge: asked for a recommendation for a restaurant close by. He told us he cannot recommend anything, the closest would be 20 min away by car. He then walked us to their in house place and almost forced us to sit down.
- The map of the city they hand out. Most recommendations are inside the hotel. Under public transportation they just say how bad it is in Joburg and recommend their hotel limousine. Useless.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
The hotel is on the expensive side

Would you return?
Yes, but only if they are cheaper than a club room in other 5 star places in town.
