Two many opened credit cards in the last two years
Just applied for a CHASE Sapphire Preferred last night for my wife, but was not auto-approved. We called the recon line and was told the app was declined because she had too many credit cards opened in the last two years. They counted six cards (actually they mentioned the number 6, but rattled off more than that when I questioned them about it for details) - a chase united card, a Barclay US Air card, a Talbots card, an Old Navy card plus a several cards that were opened in my name and I made her an authorized user on them. Based on recent reports, it does not sound good about getting them to change their mind if I call back again . . .
