I just spoke with one of my scientists who was on that flight...He said the crew handled the emergency calmly and efficiently....and the landing was not rough at all...a little noisy, maybe, but very normal. He indicated that the pilots kept the passengers in the loop and there was no "panic"...as a matter of fact, the exit from the aircraft was performed in a manner with less "urgency" than a normal arrival. Good job SkyWest!

FWIW, I have personally experienced two emergency landings flying SkyWest...a collapsed nosegear and a depressurization at altitude and both times the crew handled the situation professionally and calmly. While I detest regional flights, if I have to fly them, SkyWest is the regional that I am most comfortable with (safety wise that is!)
