Question Asking NOT to check bag through to final destination ?

Hey there,

I have a London (LHR) - Tokyo (NRT) return trip through CDG next month on Air France.
On the way back, I'd like to end my trip in CDG, and NOT board the last CDG-LHR segment.

Obviously, I'd like to pick up my bags in CDG too.:
Simply changing my booking is not an option (got a really good business class promotion from London), that would be €4000+
Air France says the only other way to get my bags at CDG is to pay a €275 fee once there, as there's a policy for check-in agents NOT to honor requests to tag bags with the connecting airport.

That's the theory, but in practice, do I stand a good chance to get my bag tagged to CDG if I ask the check-in agent nicely at NRT ?

If that matters : my NRT-CDG is operated by Japan Airlines, and the layover in CDG is just 1h (so I can't really use the excuse that I will urgently need my bag)

Thanks !
