Gili-CMB

When we first started the booking, we had plans to leave the Gili in the afternoon and sit in the CMB airport for about 6 hours. After considering that we would be in Sri Lanka, we changed the flight to leave the Gili (yes we dont say MLE anymore) early to have about 15 hours in Sri Lanka. Before we left the USA we did our transit visa online . This gives you 2 days in Sri Lanka for free. Make sure you have your onward boarding pass. We were able to show our mobile boarding pass in order to clear immigration. It might be best to get before the transit desk in CMB as the queue was quite lengthy.

After our quick boat ride, quick check in, and clearing of security, we arrived at our new lounge.

A sign not often seen in lounges.

A decent early morning spread.

The lounge was also very empty.

A row of computers with decent internet speeds. Yes I searched for a job to work at the Gili while sitting here.

The boarding area.

Time to catch our chariot onto Colombo.

Another One World family.

I am always excited to walk on the tarmac.

Bird watching, literally.

I really like seeing other airlines paint schemes. Makes me feel a bit closer to their home. I guess this is plane porn.

The flight was the same as the flight here. Thus no additional pictures. Very light flight load, plenty of space, with a quick up and down. Thanks Sri Lankan. I am glad of the addition to the One World family.

Our Mr. Friday at the Gili is from Sri Lanka, and he booked us a driver and tour before we arrived to Colombo. We were easily found after exiting customs. Next up, 12 crazy hours in Sri Lanka.
