Over on the AmEx EMV thread there's even more misinformation. One poster was asking about the Costco AmEx with EMV. He claimed to have called multiple times over the last couple of months each time to be told that the Costco card didn't have EMV. I linked back to my post with the photo proof of its existence. I expect there to be more issues like this during the transition period.
On an unrelated note, I noticed more of the new Target style terminals with the EMV reader blocked off at Nordstrom last night. I didn't pay close enough attention, but are these just plastic covers that can be removed once EMV has been turned on?
