Our departure from TPE started with another delayed flight. Also, confusingly, the gate was immediately next to the gate from where an earlier TPE-BKK flight was departing, so, we initially walked down to the wrong gate.

The boarding area was not too crowded and the flight didn’t seem that full. But, the flight did continue to LHR; so, there may have been a lot of folks on that longer leg. The flight boarded a little bit late.

Once on-board we were in a familiar cabin – it was the same configuration we had just flown LAX-TPE. We were offered warm towels and drinks before take-off. However, while a pillow and comforter were provided, no slippers and no amenity kit were provided. The wine list was very different from our TPAC flight and, of course, no Dom was offered. The seat was very comfortable to sit, relax and enjoy the plethora of options on the IFE. The rest of the service throughout the flight was very good.

I pre-ordered our “light meals” (along with selected our seats – one across the aisle from the other I enjoy looking out the window during landing and take-off). I ordered Golden Fried Shrimp with Asian Spices Crumble with Egg Fried Rice with Scallion and Mixed Vegatable. For Mrs. FindAWay, I ordered Pan Fried Salmon Fillet with Marsala Wine Brown Sauce Served with Vegetable and Mashed Potato. Both were very good and, I think, better than the food on the LAX-TPE TPAC flight.

The arrival in BKK was very easy (and the immigration line was very short) and we took a taxi (without a wait) to the hotel.
