When you open a business card, Citi sets up a 'master account' and then the actual card account under that. Both need to be closed when you close the card, to prevent problems down the road.
Only problem with this as it happen to my brother, NOT all reps knows about the master acct, they often only see or know about the regular biz or card acct. there is no way of actually knowing if they did wipe the entire slate clean even if you tell them to. They claim to have done so for my brother but they only closed the regular acct. as he found out when he reapply and got denied.
