Booked Queen, requested top floor. Given top floor Queen corner room.

How are the rooms?

Standard HI size. Relatively modern decor with a comfortable sofa and coffee table.

How is the executive lounge?

N/A.

What was your welcome gift?

Choice of 1,000 points, 25% off the restaurant or a $5 coffee card. An impressive goody bag in room with two bags of chips, honey-roasted peanuts and an almond/cranberry mix, along with a personalized card. They really try hard here.

What was good and what was bad?

Good

+Excellent front desk staff, attractive lobby area with warm earth tones
+Holidome concept is very family-friendly, with many rooms facing the indoor pool
+Room facing mall was quiet
+Personalized hand-written welcome card from guest services and awesome goody bag
+Super-comfortable beds
+Excellent restaurant and bartender, the steak was wonderful
+Fridge and microwave in room
+Large mall across the street

Bad

-No breakfast for Platinums
-Wall-mounted thermostat was not the most responsive unit, but did the job
-Tiny bathroom with minimal counter space
-Showerhead very low, designed for 5'4" and under
-Could use a shuttle service (being within 3km of Guelph U and a bit further to downtown Guelph)

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Rates around $110-120, very reasonable.
