IC ANA Strings Hotel Shinagawa Tokyo
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes except once again not happy about losing their pseudo-Club benefits.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked superior, upgraded to "the suite" (corner suite, 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms)
How are the rooms?
Very nice and tasteful, nice panorama.
How is the exec. lounge?
There is none. But they sell "Club" access which is basically free breakfast for 2 in "The Restaurant" (atrium) and a few cocktails and micro snacks in the evening. Not really "Club" and they no longer provide this to RAs. Last time they offered me a "buy-up" to a breakfast rate for about $25 a day; this time I didn't bother even asking.
Did you receive a welcome gift?
Yes, though I can't remember what it was.
How was the minibar?
Good but nothing "Japanese" other than the beer. And skimpy on the hard liquors.
What was good and what was bad?
-Good
I like the boutique feeling. It's like the whole hotel is a Club Lounge.
Peaceful and serene.
-Bad
Cheap reversal of policy on "Club" access.
Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Weekend A/P rate was 26K Yen, which is good value for this caliber hotel in Tokyo.
Would you return?
Yeah, I guess. I would be more excited if they reinstated the "Club" access.
