IC Barclay - New York

IC Barclay - New York

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Overall, yes.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked standard King Room - Upgraded to One Bedroom King Bed Suite.

How are the rooms?
I like The Barclay. I like that it is an older style of hotel, that it has old time charm and character. The suite was clean, in good decorative order with no scuffs or marks on walls, clean stain-free carpets and rugs etc... All furniture was in good order and comfortable. Massive, massive king bed. I am sure it must have been bigger than a king, but then again, my mum was sleeping in the bedroom, and she is tiny, so maybe that was why it looked so big!
The sofa bed in the living room was, surprisingly, very comfortable too. I slept well in it.

How is the exec. lounge?
No lounge.

What was good and what was bad?

Good:
RA recognition.
Upgrade to suite.
Location.
Staff very good. Responsive to requests.

Bad:
First suite allocated on the 4th floor, directly above entrance on E48th Street, constant disturbance from man whistling to get taxis for people, so requested a move and it was done whilst we were out for the day to the 11th floor.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Will be giving NY a rest for a while, but if it is still around when I come back, yes. Most definitely.
