InterContinental London - Park Lane

What is your Priority Club Status?
Platinum Royal Ambassador.

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, even if there is some room for improvement.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked the cheapest rate, and received a one bedroom suite with club access.

How are the rooms?
Around 45sqm
Living room with sofa, flat screen television with good selection of channels, Bose mini chain with iPhone deck (which happened not to work), desk with UK and Europe sockets
Separate toilets with large bottle of (great) Wild Lavender Elemis soap and hand/body lotion.
Bedroom with flatscreen television. Very comfortable bed
Bathroom with large Elemis amenities, bathtub, separate walk-in shower, towels warmer, Frette bathrobe
Partial view over Hyde Park (actually the rear of Les Ambassadeurs club)

How is the exec. lounge?
Club access was offered as a compensation of the room not ready at 2pm+.
Nice design, pleasant view over Hyde Park, light.
Very smiling staff. ^
But a massive disappointment for evening food offer (basically cheese and crackers). Good but not stunning breakfast.

What was good and what was bad?
Good:
- Central location

Bad:
- Less than welcoming (close to aggressive) check-in experience at Ambassador desk
- Room was not ready at check-in. It was supposed to be ready "in 15 minutes for inspection" but had to wait more than an hour
- Smoke smell in the room (an air sanitizer was brought, but with poor effect...and even more terrible chimical smell).
- Despite long inspection, iPhone dock was out of order, the head shower of the bathtub was broken, the handle of the bedside table fell down when opening the drawer
- Door to the connecting room not locked
- Poor privacy (window with a view over the room at the corner)

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?Would you return?
Location is perfect and upgrade policy much better than IC Westminster.
I am still waiting for an excellent IC in London.
