More relevant is the cost of the extra 10,000 miles (compared to other offers for other Citi AA cards that waive the annual fee but don't throw in the AC membership).

Those people who were not about to buy an AC membership are more likely to look at it as $495 for just those extra 10k miles, and that comes out to 4.95 cents per mile.

No not such a great offer IMHO unless you really were about to buy an AC membership, or if the 10k EQM get you above an elite threshold you're looking for at less cost than mileage runs you were about to do.
