Yes.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Points, upgraded to deluxe room with a view over Macau (constructions sites) instead of the Sheraton.
How are the rooms?
Large and comfortably furnished rooms. King size bed, lazy chair. Bathroom with tub and shower.
What was good and what was bad?
Good:
- Nice upgrade, nice rooms
- Staff was very friendly (despite tripadvisor reports otherwise)
- Great pool area with four or five swimming pools and pool bar
- Located in the Sands Cotai Central complex, the hotel does not have many facilities of its own. There's a huge shopping mall, casinos, restaurants and food courts in the complex that houses the HI, the Conrad and the Sheraton.
Bad:
- The location is terrible, unless you spend your day in casinos and high-end shopping malls. Dining options are limited (food court or expensive restaurants), no supermarket for water or other necessities.
Value for € or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
During October Golden Week, the award night was very good value. Overall, this is a great Holiday Inn and I wouldn't pay for the Conrad or Sheraton - the facilities are shared anyway.
However, I prefer a location in Macau over Taipa and Coloane new area.
