Hertz Car Hire at AYQ

I chose to rent a small SUV (a Toyota RAV-4) from Hertz at the airport. I did this so we could make our own schedule during our extremely brief time (26 hours) in the Outback. We hike a lot and knew that we could fit in quite a bit during the one afternoon and following morning if we planned it out. I didn’t get a picture of the vehicle; but, it was neither impressive nor underwhelming.

The rate I had booked included only 100km with AUD$0.25 for each extra kilometer. I knew we’d drive about double this amount and the clerk was kind enough to increase the included kilometers to 200 for us at no additional charge. They had no vehicles available for walk-up bookings - only reservations.

Overall, I had a good experience with Hertz at this location and would rate it “above average.”
