The Barclays Arrival card points do post as soon as you spend, and the 40K bonus points post as soon as you hit the $1000 spending.It also gives you 90 days after the travel purchase to redeem, so you can spend on the card, earn the points afterward and then redeem. If you do manufactured spending at $3.95 per $500, this card basically gives you a 64% discount on the travel purchases you redeem on it.
+1 to not overpaying for a hotel room just because you have status.
