Part 2

As soon as we were airborne and at stable altitude, service commenced. The drink menu as I mentionned was missing. however its content was the same than on our previous flight, with excellent choices for both white and red wines, so I will refer you to it.

The menu though, reads as follow:

First service

Second service

For dinner we had the chance again of seating together. There is no better dining area than in the air! To quickly sum up the first service: amazing! Not only the food tasted great, it looked appealing was very nicely presented and accompanied by some great wines, the service was also top notch. Clearly TG catering out of BKK is better, as the food tasted much nicer than our previous flight. This was one of the best service I've had in the air, on pair with our LH flight to Dubai, except this flight was much longer and thus more enjoyable!

Glass of Perrier and nuts

Appetizers, warm and tasty

Hot towel

Branded butter

Our table

Caviar service, which we only got once, as we were 7 F pax that day

Caviar, without the heart, but with frozen Vodka. Precious.

Fois gras d'Oie, not the best I've had, but very decent. Here the wine cellar fell short; they did not had any Sauternes nor Côteau du Layon. I settled for a glass of Dom

Our Thai dishes for the day, pre-ordered (Paneng curry and pork sauté if I remember well), they were excellent

The Boeuf Bourguignon, really tender, and served with perfectly cooked vegetables was accompanied by a Beaunes 1er cru les Grèves 2008

Fruits

Dessert (1 for 2, we were sooo stuffed)

After that amazing meal service, we were stuffed and tired! Our beds were made and I watched a movie on the nice IFE before falling asleep. The IFE itself was good, especially the screen. I watched another classic, The Great Escape. Evian water bootles were distributed. The suite offers very good privacy with the sliding doors (they are manual by the way, not automatic like EK), too bad they are dropping that on their new F in the 74N or A380. The seat in bed mode was definitely more comfortable than on the 74R, but one can feel the madrass is still quiet thin.

My suite after 11 hours flying

I slept about six hours when I woke up for the second service. As I was still full from the previous service I decided to refuse. I ordered a coke, used the restroom which by the way is nicer than on the 74R, as one has more room to change. Still the amenities were the same (Bvlgari) and there was no window.

My Thai coke

I woke up again 40 minutes before landing after a very nice last bit of sleeping. I promptly changed again before being thanked by the F cabin manager and the purser for the flight. The purser had worked another cabin that day, but our FAs had been excellent. Special mention to one of them who spoke perfect english (she was born in the States, which helps), and was impeccable throughout the entine flight. Generally service was excellent. I felt like the FAs knew what we needed when we needed it. They were also very polite and polished. It was very good!

At the gate, a german escort was waiting for us (she did not speak good english in comparison...). Nevertheless she took us through immigration, security control, and from Terminal B to the new Senator lounge by the A gates. That was a long way, but we were glad we had been escorted through the normally lenghty bit.

Our escort, note the shinny blue silk blazer from a German F passenger. Only in Germany!

Conclusion
That was a phenomenal flight from TG. The hard product was great (777 are great planes!), and the soft product absolutely excellent. The number of things that went wrong or were missing was very small on this flight, and all in all this will be an experience we will remember for a long time. Thumbs up to the crew for a great experience. I will be back.
