I thought the point of the gift cards was to get credit card spend by purchasing the cards and then using the cards to pay for things you can't do by credit card. You can pay your taxes by credit card for the 2% fee, so why try to use the gift cards at all?

If bluebird will cut a check to the Dept. of Revenue for you, then maybe the bluebird idea would save you about half percent on your transaction costs.
