Was on this flight - planned tech stop for fuel in DEN was announced prior to boarding. I noticed it while sitting in club and checked my flight status on the iPhone app, only to get an error saying 'Flight 770 From SFO to BOS doesn't operate this day.' When typing in the flight number to get flight status, it had the flight broken into SFO-DEN and DEN-SFO.

I will say though, that the pilots were beyond professional. Gave super detailed information about the planned tech stop and what necessitated it (EastFromSFO listed it above.) They had Channel 9 on, said they would push the Airbus as fast as it would fly, got us into DEN early and landed in BOS only 45 min behind originally scheduled arrival time. Plus they proactively used ACARS to set up compensation for us while inflight and flight attendants mentioned to go to www.united.com/appreciation numerous times before landing. Plus customer service emails waiting upon landing.

Pilots had mentioned that other planned diversity city was ORD, but ORD was suffering from freezing rain which wasn't good and would've necessitated de-icing. Not sure why only ORD or DEN are viable tech stop cities...

While these situations are never ideal, how the crew handles it makes a difference. The SFO ground crew weren't helpful at all, but inflight and pilots made up for it!

As a 1K, got $250!
