You'll find on hub-hub routes operating by a competitor that has hubs in both airports that the competition often uses regional jets.

E.g., UA ORD-DFW, ORD-MIA
E.g., DL LGA-ORD

AA's service and schedule on the ORD-LGA route (more important for business traffic between the two cities) is definitely the winner vs. UA and DL.
