Le Cameleon very nice, but it's very "un-Puerto Viejo." It's not at all typical of the lodgings in the area. And, yes, it's in a price range all its own for Puerto Viejo.
Am I reading your post right? You're flying in and then driving to PV (about 4.5-5 hours), staying one day and then heading somewhere else? That's a long way to go for just one full day.
