IC Hua Hin

IC Hua Hin

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Mostly

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Premier Pool Terrace, upgraded to Pool Terrace suite - did not feel like a double upgrade.
They also included club

How are the rooms?
Large room on the 5th floor of the main building close to the road. Terrace with Jacuzzi bathtub, another oversize bathtub in the bathroom. Separate shower and toilet.
Access to the room is a bit weird: You actually need to leave the lobby, next to the driveway there are two elevators going up.

How is the exec. lounge?
Small but people there very pleasant.
They serve breakfast, but only a la carte - the have nothing there, not even bread. Seems nobody has breakfast there.
At afternoon tea you can order some sets of food. In the evening they have a few tiny warm dishes, some cheese, some veggies and some desert items.
Nothing to write home about compared to the better clubs like Bangkok, Saigon.
You can also have breakfast in the main restaurant. Selection is disappointing for an asian IC - very limited variety.

What was your welcome gift?
Small bottle of massage oil

Did you receive fruit in the room?
Yes. Replenished daily. Also a new plate with little chocolates every day.

How was the mini-bar?
Very poor. No hard liquor, no diet drinks. Not refilled the first day, but then refilled on the second day after a call.

What was good and what was bad?

Good
- Very friendly and efficient staff, from checkin to the waiters in the restaurant to especially everybody in the club
- Nice and new rooms

Bad
- Internet and the phone system was out for half a day
- Breakfast selection not up to asian IC standard
- Weird access to the 5th floor

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
Not sure. There are nicer places in the area for the approx 8000 bath per night (even considering the upgrade to club and a bigger room)

Would you return?
I would try some other places in the area first (unless I am in need for a few more nights to keep RA).
