I get the strong feeling that it might have been supposed to be 7,500, not 75,000 but a BA staff member might have had a finger trouble.

It seems grossly excessive considering it is 15,000 more than a full one-way Avios redemption cost for the US east coast to London (which is 60,000).

If this was not a mistake, it is completely silly.
