I'm not staggered that they charge that amount, I'm staggered that he actually
paid it. Venice is the only city in Italy where I was exposed to flagrant bill-padding. A cover, then a tax, then another cover (different charge to the first one) - when I queried the bill a new and correct one immediately appeared. No apology, no shame, and it was clearly no error.
