• Does JAL provide Wi-Fi service onboard?
Yes, JAL has started rolling out onboard Wi-Fi service called JAL SKY Wi-Fi on its entire 777-300ER fleet. This service is now available daily on the following routes
- JL005/006 (NRT-JFK)
- JL009/010 (NRT-ORD)
- JL061/062 (NRT-LAX)
- JL725/726 (NRT-CGK)
- JL401/402 (NRT-LHR)
- JL407/408 (NRT-FRA)
- JL405/406 (NRT-CDG)
JAL is looking into expanding the JAL SKY Wi-Fi service to other routes as well, including the domestic routes. Currently there's a challenge of installing the antenna on the 787 carbon fiber fuselage and Boeing is looking into the solution. That's why 787 is not part of the initial rollout.
Recently, JAL has announced the JAL SKY Wi-Fi rollout plan on its domestic network. This will be installed on a total of 77 planes, which include 777-200, 777-300, 767-300, 767-300ER, and 737-800. More details here:
