and shopping it around in USA did not lower the price.
I don't have such a price. My root canal plus gold onlay was COP$900,000 and that's about 450 bucks if you want a price comparison. The onlay kept falling out so they chopped the rest out and gave me a crown no quibbles so I didn't pay for my crown. Had no probs with it since but this was with the previous dentist that I no longer use (mentioned above) That said it is an upmarket place with excellent facilities in a smart part of town.
I can ask about your crown too if you like
