If you went through two security checks you must have gone the wrong way.
For Schengen departures you go through security as you go airside, but don't go through a further security check at the gate.
For non-Schengen departures you don't through security as you go airside, but go through security at the gate (or, for parts of D Pier, at the entry point to a group of gates)
If you went through security twice you must have entered via the Schengen side, for a non-Schengen departure.
