Final thoughts
In short, Virgin Upper Class isn’t my sort of product. The Clubhouse is too busy, the crew lacked focus, the seat doesn’t have my favoured lounging position and the food ranged from okay to awful.
By the same token I can see why some people love Upper Class and prefer it to BA. What I can’t abide are those who are still taken in by Branson’s original marketing puff that UC is the equivalent of First Class; that certainly isn’t the case. This is in no way a First Class product.
For our next trip to New York I think it’s time to try BA’s London City service.
